The Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of India’s most prestigious national-level entrance exams conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission into MBA, PGDM, and other management programs. It is held once a year and is accepted by IIMs as well as hundreds of top business schools across the country. The exam tests a candidate’s abilities in areas like quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, and data interpretation, making it essential for those aiming for a career in management.

To be eligible for the CAT exam, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks, while reserved category candidates (SC, ST, PwD) need a minimum of 45%. The degree can be from any stream, including Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, or professional courses like CA, CS, and ICWA. Candidates who possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government of India are also considered eligible to apply.

Students who are in the final year of their graduation are also allowed to appear for the CAT exam, provided they submit valid proof of completing their degree within the deadline set by their institute. Additionally, there is no age limit and no limit on the number of attempts for the exam, offering flexibility to fresh graduates as well as working professionals. Candidates must also have valid ID proof and required category certificates (if applicable) to complete the registration process successfully.
